Summary:
To save her mother's life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters — never mind that entering the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and her best friend, Simon, has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.
As Clary uncovers more about her family's past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadowhunter Sebastian. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadowhunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he's willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her newfound powers to help save the Glass City — whatever the cost?
Love is a mortal sin and the secrets of the past prove deadly as Clary and Jace face down Valentine in the final installment of the New York Times bestselling The Mortal Instruments
Review/My Thoughts:
These books are getting better within each book that comes out.
City of Glass is the third installment in the Mortal Instruments Series. I think this is my favorite. Okay, I lied. ALL of these books are my favorite, I simply cant choose.
Speechless. I am speechless. All in a good way. This book ha dme in suspense and suspiscion.
But the one thing that got me--this specific character:
Sebastian.
At first, he seems charming and nice, and I actually thought he was coming onto Clary. But of course, I still had my suspicions about him. Sebastian is dark, handsom, tall, and evil (yes!) But of course, I'm sure I wasn't the only one who had their suspcions about him. But-he..he's something else.
But learning more about Clary's family past and oh! Jace and Clary aren't really related?!
WHAAATTTTT!
For the past 2 books, I've been told that Jace and Clary are brother and sister, but instead they really arent?!
Instead--I should have know! And I DID, it's Sebastian!? *curls up in an ashamed but shocked ball on the floor*
It can't be!
That part just...mind-raped me. I was mind-raped. I sure was. Thanks, Cassandra Clare.
The ending of City of Glass was amazing!
What I liked:
*Valentine raising Angel Raziel
* the multiple plot twists and turns that made me not throw my book out in shock (in a good way)
-The determination, passion, romance, war, and unity from the characters.
What I didn't like:
*Max dying. No, why does it have to be Max?! Why did Max, the cute, smart, nerdy nine-year old boy, who has a life in front of him, die? I was sad.
-Jace had no remorse for the lost of the boy! Like, how cruel could that be? I mean, I could understand that it's hard to show emotion, but at least try to cry at night about it, Jace!
City of Glass had me full of suspense, suspcion, and laughter. I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. It was a long book, but I got done with it in a good timely fashion.
I am going to be reading the 4th book, City of Fallen Angels in the next Mortal Instrument Series.
4.7/5 Stars!
